Why is Breakfast Important Anyway?

So I admit, I made this latest recipe pack for me as much as anyone else! I was totally stuck in a breakfast rut, making the same smoothie on repeat. While I knew my smoothie was nutritious and well-balanced, I thought a little variety wouldn’t go amiss! However, if I was going to make the effort to change, I wanted options that were just as quick and easy to prepare but offered a good protein intake with plenty of fibre and other vitamins and minerals.

I know we all tend to go through phases of making the same breakfasts on repeat, so if you introduce a few new recipes then you’re sorted! Plus, I include all the nutritional information with macro-nutrients as well as key vitamins and minerals, so you can adjust any portions or extras to meet your goals.

I suspect quite a few of you may be in the same boat, do any of these sound similar?

Are you…

  • Having constant mid-morning snack attacks due to unsatisfying breakfasts?
  • Feeling sluggish and low on energy after eating the same old breakfast every day?
  • Scrolling through Instagram, admiring perfect breakfasts, but never attempting them yourself? (I am amazed by how ambitious some people seem to be first thing in the morning!)
  • Or even skipping breakfast entirely because you didn’t have time?

In many ways, breakfast really can be the most important meal of the day and having a positive start really sets you up well. I made this pack because I want you to be excited to wake up each morning and try a new, delicious breakfast and knowing you can pick and choose a different type of breakfast for different scenarios: prepped in advance for grab-and-go, 5 minutes to make on the spot, or taking a bit more time on the weekend.

Why a high protein and high fibre breakfast is important:

Starting your day with a breakfast that’s rich in protein and fibre can provide numerous benefits. Protein helps to keep you feeling full and satisfied, reducing the likelihood of mid-morning cravings and overeating later in the day. Additionally, fibre helps to regulate blood sugar levels, promote healthy digestion, and support overall gut health. Together, a high protein and high fibre breakfast can give you the energy and nutrients you need to tackle the day ahead.

I’ve done the hard work for you: all the recipes have around 30g of protein, are also high in fibre and other important vitamins and minerals, they’re easy to make and all use a mix of the same ingredients. All you have to do is make them!

  1. stew your own fruit – preferably apples, rhubarb and blueberries – add plenty of honey to the stewed fruit.
make porridge with milk and a banana. Add two heaped tbsp of the stewed fruit Bring it all back to the boil. Simmer for 5 mins. Add a rhubarb yoghurt. You will never be hungry mid morning 😀
